Named after a yoga position, the Munich-based four-piece is constantly striving for balance – balance between indie rock and pop, between playfulness and ambition, and between the past and the future. While King Pigeon’s debut EP “Sonic Fields” (2016) can be regarded as a celebration of classic indie sounds, its 2018 successor “About The Stock Life” is a more mature effort that explores new territories. Ethereal guitars and synthesizers complement the beat-driven songs which all revolve around one common theme: How can we follow our dreams in a world where so much seems to be predetermined? For King Pigeon, at least the dream is clear: being able to move people through music – physically and emotionally.
